Silicon Dreams Review

Horizon Zero Dawn begins with Aloy, an outcast of her tribe who exists in a world inhabited by both robots and humans. After her tribe is slain by cultists, she goes on an adventure and begins to piece together the truth of her birth and what happened to the world around her.


Silicon Dreams tackles some big philosophical questions and does so with a deft hand. The dialogue between yourself and the androids you interrogate is well written - save for some spelling errors here and there - and has quite a few twists and turns along the way. Each android has a unique personality that makes you feel conflicted about what to do with them. They all act like real people even though they've completely synthetic. Kronos will give you mission briefings that often have some rather cold-hearted requirements such as deleting their memories or melting androids down for scrap. Power amongst gangs in Night City's districts doesn't change or shift, should a gang be heavily affected by a questline or decision made by players. In " The Pickup " quest, players have the option to free the trapped former Maelstrom leader, Brick. Once he's freed, Brick offers V a favor, but players never see that favor from repaid, and V’s relationship with Maelstrom doesn't change. Maelstrom will still attack the player in the streets, despite V saving them from being zeroed. On the other hand, siding with Militech and Meredith Stout by supposedly getting rid of Maelstrom won’t affect the gang’s status in Watson. Players can spend that time more efficiently by crafting Epic items with Uncommon Components, then breaking down that crafted item into Epic Components — yes, crafting currently works like that. You play as an android that is the property of a massive, android-producing corporation called Kronos. In this cyberpunk 2077 Tips future, Kronos is the be-all, end-all of android companies and is essentially above the law.
