Those interested in checking out what should be one of the first big RPG releases of 2017 should head over to the PlayStation Store now to begin downloading their copy of the demo. First impressions matter a lot, and if the buzz surrounding the demo is any indication, NieR: Click Webpage Automata could be a sleeper hit waiting to happen - perhaps Square Enix and Platinum Games will be able to combine to top the former's incredible 2016 after

In a tight, closed space, sounds don’t echo very much. In a wide open room like the one above, though, echoes last longer. Echoes also change depending on the materials that make up an area: They’re louder when you’re surrounded by metal than when you’re surrounded by dirt, for example. Each area you explore in a game needs its own reverb settings to get these echoes just right.

In all our previous projects, we sound designers made individual settings for echoes to fit the exact shape of each area in the game. However, since NieR: Automata takes place in a more open world, it would take a massive amount of work to do it that way. We’re aiming to cut down on all that effort while creating a realistic soundscape for the game by using a system that can manage echoes on the fly.

The game will run at 60 FPS on both PS4 Pro and standard PS4, but resolution will be different. The PS4 version will run at native 1600 x 900, while the game will run at native 1080p (1920x1080) on PS4 Pro. 4K resolution won't be supported on PS4 platfo

NieR: Automata was revealed by Square Enix back at E3 2015 , alongside the announcement that Bayonetta developer Platinum Games would be tasked with delivering some oomph to the game. Revolving around a future world where humanity has been forced to flee to the Moon after a sudden attack from alien beings and mechanical life forms, NieR: Automata tasks the player with restoring order to the world, taking on the role of one of these android warriors. It certainly sounds like the kind of high-octane action that Platinum Games is renowned

The title also looks to have close ties to the original game, taking place after the events of the first NieR . Although Square Enix has previously stated that it works well as a stand alone title, it will be interesting to see exactly how well NieR: Automata functions as a solo game. Nonetheless, with Platinum Games on board and making the game its own , it’s bound to be a thrilling r

NieR: Automata represents a big step forward for the series, as it attempts to correct the many mistakes that were made in the original NieR while also preserving its core sense of identity. Fans of the original game praise its story and character development as its biggest selling points, and NieR: Automata will have to carefully balance all of the innovations it is bringing to combat with the things that made the first NieR memorable in spite of its fl

While the red-eyed enemies did run the risk of repetition, the game mixed up the action with unique camera angles, switching from a traditional 3D perspective to a 2D sidescroller. These transitions felt seamless, and the bold move to play with camera angles kept the combat from feeling too stale as 2B progressed to each new fighting location. She has several hack-and-slash attacks, and gamers can also utilize their floating pod companion to lay down bullets and trigger laser attacks from distance - something they'll have to do when enemies who can't be melee attacked enter the pict

The game will release in Japan for PS4 on February 23rd, in North America on March 7th, and in Europe on March 10th, 2017. A PC version is also scheduled to come next year, but no release window has been announced for that one.

After a bit of tweaking, we try it out and see how it feels. Then we tweak again, and test again, then tweak again, then… It’s repetitive work, but all this testing is essential to make NieR: Automata feel exactly as it should. Sometimes we end up spending an entire day just working out the perfect way to position enemies in a single fight scene!

The first set of the NieR: Automata videos will no doubt prove incredibly interesting to fans of the original. Revolving around the game’s combat, they first show a pair of characters walking around the post-apocalyptic game world, before then taking on enemies in the game’s action-oriented combat system. It certainly looks as though the game’s action has a more dynamic feel than the original, perhaps in keeping with Platinum Games’ development hist
